While I respect for the work done under the current leadership, Ellis County Republicans deserve innovative strategies to build on that foundation. Inspired by President Trump's success in assembling broad coalitions, I believe it's time to modernize our outreach, boost informed voter turnout, and unite conservatives to elect even more Republicans up and down the ballot.
If I'm blessed with victory on March 3, 2026, my term officially begins on June 15, 2026 (20 days after the May 26 primary runoff, per RPT rules). I will swear in at the required organizational meeting of the County Executive Committee (CEC), which must be held on or after that date (and within 45 days thereafter). This meeting will include all newly elected precinct chairs and provide the formal setting for swearing in and getting the team seated. In the lead-up to and immediately following that organizational meeting, I will prioritize the following steps to set a positive, unified tone and build momentum:
Schedule unifying events: Bring all Ellis County Republicans together through town halls, guest speaker forums, and community gatherings (separate from monthly CEC meetings where possible) to foster fellowship, share ideas, and energize our base.
Recruit leaders for Standing Subcommittees: (current subcommittee chairs will be welcome to apply). I'll actively seek the best fits for each role (as allowed under Ellis County GOP Bylaws), with confirmation by the CEC.
Establish new or enhanced Subcommittees/Teams and recruit skilled volunteers: Logistics Subcommittee: Responsible for inventory management of party-owned items, sourcing supplies as needed, and directing/assisting with physical setup for meetings, events, and activities—ensuring we know what we have, where it is, and how to use it efficiently.
IT Subcommittee: Focused on updating, maintaining, and integrating software, hardware, telecommunications, email, and systems to maximize operational efficiencies and modernize our tools.
Uniform Services Engagement Team: Dedicated to recruiting and engaging Veterans, Law Enforcement, First Responders (current and retired)—leveraging their leadership and patriotism to strengthen our coalition.
Hispanic Outreach Team: A bilingual team that builds on President Trump's success in growing Hispanic support, encouraging active involvement, voter registration, and leadership roles within the Ellis County GOP.
Recruiting Team: County-wide effort to grow our base, including a "Welcome Wagon"-style program that will personally welcome new residents, offer voter registration opportunities, sign them up for newsletters/updates, and provide key local contacts (their precinct chair, county commissioner, JP, constable, etc.).
Once sworn in at the organizational meeting, I will convene an executive session with all precinct chairs for candid, open discussions. This will help us establish a "One Team, Many Fights" attitude; united in purpose, collaborative in strategy, and focused on winning together while respecting diverse views on specific issues.
Currently the following are "Standing Subcommittees" as required by the Ellis County Republican Party Bylaws:
1. Budget & Finance
2. Precinct Chair Vetting & Development
3. Communications & Marketing
4. Headquarters & Volunteers
5. Events & Fundraising
6. Victory
7. Legislative & Political Priorities.
Subcommittee chairs are selected by the Chair (confirmed by Executive Committee).
If elected, I will actively recruit subcommittee chairs who best fit each role.
I will seek changes to the Bylaws to include splitting "Events & Fundraising". This is appropriate since not all events are fundraisers and not all fundraisers are events.
In addition, I will add a logistics team that will be responsible for managing all physical assets of the organization. Currently we often find ourselves unsure of what we have or where it is located.
I will expect a detailed Financial Statement monthly that includes line item revenues and expenses. I will require the Finance Subcommittee to have multiple members so as to create checks and balances that do not now exist.
I believe the primary purpose of the Ellis County Republican party is to assist Republicans in winning general elections. We can't count on the majority we've had in the last 40 years to carry us into the future. There has to be a solid strategic plan that incorporates multiple steps and innovative tactics to lead us to victories at the ballot box.
#1 COMMUNICATION: This is the very cornerstone of all we do. As a candidate and if elected as the chair I will communicate through multiple channels. These include:
Personal Appearances: shake hands and engage in one on one conversations, complete with eye contact, voice inflection, and body language. I will attend all community gatherings and visit classrooms where allowed. If elected I will maintain an online schedule of office days where I will be at GOP HQ and available to meet with Ellis County residents.
Calls and Texts: I setup 415-VOTE-GOP [868-3467] several years ago as a precinct chair. If elected, I will maintain this and publicize it as county chair.
Social Media: Voters can see I personally post and respond on social media, I refuse to depend on surrogates to speak for me. If elected I will continue this practice.
#2 LEAD: While I truly appreciate conflict avoidance, there are times as a leader you have to address wrongs from within. As the leader of any institution (company, team, military, etc...) you have a fiduciary responsibility to make every effort to maintain the reputation of your organization. Most of the time this can be done by leading by example and when required, a private conversation with fellow members of your organization.
#3 RECRUIT: By this I mean bring in all who will vote Republican in the fall. We can expect to often disagree in the primary and not always agree 100% on platform planks or policies (complete 2024 TX GOP Platform available below) but we must come together when it counts to prevent waking up November 4th with Senator Elect Crockett (not Davey). We must welcome those moving to Ellis (top 10 fastest growing) county and the young people who are reaching voting age and are energized like never before as a direct result of the efforts of organizations such as Turning Point USA and the Young GOP of Ellis County.
#4 INFORM: Everyone has the God given and Constitutionally confirmed right to endorse and campaign for the candidates of their choice in the primary. Endorsing in a Republican primary by the Party should be a very rare event. This is specifically covered in the Article III, Section 4 of Bylaws of the Republican Party of Ellis County (complete Bylaws found below). Instead the party should focus on informing the voters during primary season. The party should assist with organizing and promoting candidate forums, streaming interviews, and actual debates where the voter can hear directly from the candidates. We don't need to "Get Out The Vote". We need to "Get Out The Informed Vote".
#5 ORGANIZE: This may seem rather mundane but it is necessary. We have to do a better job of asset and time management. This includes inanimate objects owned by the party and the valuable volunteers who dedicate time a the office but often find themselves underutilized. This includes the structure of meetings where we do a disservice to guest speakers by only offering our rather "pre-sold" group to speak to. If elected I will actively seek guest speakers and then make every effort to host these apart from our monthly meeting in a public forum where we can expand outreach. I will also focus on engaging subject matter experts to assist with specific operational needs.

How will you ensure the chair remains a facilitator of the Executive Committee rather than directing it?
The Ellis County Republican Party (ECRP) is ruled by the Ellis County Republican Party Executive Committee (ECRPEC). I believe the role of County Chair should strike a balance: neither purely passive facilitation nor overly controlling direction. Instead, I'll lead by enabling the Executive Committee through collaborative agendas, open discussions, and targeted initiatives that maximize our efficiency and effectiveness in advancing conservative goals. My executive experience in managing teams and driving results will ensure we operate as a unified, high-performing organization without sidelining member input.
What specific steps will you take to empower Precinct Chairs rather than centralize decision-making?
Ultimately the Precinct Chairs, as elected representatives of the voters in their precinct, hold the power in the organization. As County Chair I will present a strategic plan to the Precinct Chairs and seek their approval at the beginning of my term. I will then delegate key activities to those with the required skillset to accomplish the goals. I will establish a process where milestones will be reported to the Precinct Chairs to demonstrate progress or to identify when adjustments are required. Together we will create a training plan for Precinct Chairs to assist them with developing the skills needed to maximize their effectiveness and a recruiting plan to onboard help within each precinct as required.

How do you plan to grow the party while remaining faithful to the Republican platform adopted by the grassroots?
I believe growth has to be looked at as two groups. The smaller of these is Ellis County Republican Party leadership. This includes Precinct Chairs, officers, subcommittee members, precinct support teams, HQ volunteers, etc... This group must be vetted to make sure they represent the ideals contained in the platform and do so in an honorable way. The larger group is the Republican voters of Ellis County. They may not be “involved” in the party beyond voting. This group should not be vetted at all. The job of the Ellis County Republican Party is to help Republican candidates win in November. If a voter disagrees on any portion of the platform but will support our candidates in November we should welcome them at the ballot box.
At what point would you refuse support to a candidate who calls themselves Republican but does not align with the platform?
I will adhere to Article III, Section 4 of the Ellis County Republican Party Bylaws which state: “For the county Executive Committee to endorse in a race with two or more Republican candidates a sixty (60) percent super majority of those present is required, provided a quorum of the full committee membership is present.”
To what do you attribute the decline in Republican margins in the past two presidential elections?
I believe three factors led this decline.
#1 Complacency is prevalent among many “leaders” of the Ellis County GOP. This is evidenced by those who wish to stay the course and tout the fact that all but one elected official in Ellis County (partisan position) is a Republican.
#2 Short-sightedness as demonstrated by crowing about the increased attendance at monthly meetings and the nearly unanimous Republican office holders as noted above. This fails to look at the loss in Republican margins at the ballot box, the decrease in Republican primary voters (even with tremendous voter registration growth), and the fact that Ellis County Republican vote margins are critical to winning state-wide races.
#3 The infighting, name-calling and personal attacks by those considered “leaders” in the Ellis County GOP has created an atmosphere where many Republican voters do not wish to be associated with the party. This leads to many staying home instead of voting and makes recruiting very difficult.
All 3 of these are a direct result of the “Echo-Chamber Effect”.
Why does the EC GOP not have a Facebook Group?
There is an ECGOP Group that was created in 2022 but was never publicized. It was stagnant with fewer than 10-members and no usage until late summer of 2025. This was a time when the Ellis County GOP Facebook page saw over a 60-fold increase in traffic. In order to leverage this growth, it was proposed to send out invites to the existing Facebook Group and create a “virtual townhall”. Within a couple of hours of the first invitations going out to Precinct Chairs and the incumbent County Chair. We (the marketing and communications subcommittee were instructed by the incumbent County Chair to discontinue standing up this group). Whereas the subcommittee had been previously allowed to manage social media, suddenly that ability was withheld by the incumbent County Chair. At the October meeting a presentation to the Executive Committee was given to gain permission to stand up the group. This was denied and the motion tabled. I personally presented the idea of the group standing up at the November meeting. One Precinct Chair made a motion to table this until after the March 3rdPrimary. This was seconded and passed by majority vote.
What is your current occupation?
I’m a retired US Army Master Sergeant with a Service-Connected Disability Rating.
I also work as a consultant to various clients on a limited basis and my wife and I own a consumer products brand.
Do you employ others?
Not at this time.
What is your workday like?
Outside of family matters, I’m focused entirely on this campaign.
Is it important for the voter rolls to contain *only* legal voters?
Absolutely! It is critical to continuously review voter rolls to remove any who may have moved or may have passed away..
There was a firm hired to check the Ellis County voter rolls recently. There were people listed who were deceased or had moved out of the county. If elected, what will you do with this information?
I will press to clean up the rolls as quickly as possible. I will press this issue with the Elections office, county and state leadership if warranted. This has to be a priority. In addition I will establish a Voting Team. This team will focus on:
#1 Cleaning up and maintaining voter rolls.
#2 Voter registration efforts
#3 Educating Ellis County residents on the voting process in Ellis County.
#4 Building a roster of Deputy Voter Registrars and Poll Workers.
What is your philosophy of how the Republican Party should engage with the public?
We must be welcoming, informative, and engaging.
Fellow Republicans?
We must be welcoming, informative, and engaging. We have to understand that because we are blessed to currently be a majority Republican county, we are forced to compete among ourselves in primary season. We must make every effort to make these races civil. The party should lead this effort by facilitating multiple opportunities for voters to hear directly from the candidates through multi-candidate “meet & mingles”, forums, and debates. When it comes to fellow Republicans we should live by the words of Vice President Vance:
“President Trump did not build the greatest coalition in politics by running his supporters through endless, self-defeating purity tests. He says, ‘Make America Great Again’ because every American is invited. We don't care if you're white or Black, rich or poor, young or old, rural or urban, controversial, or a little bit boring, or somewhere in between.”
For all candidates. As you know our party is changing and getting younger is a key to our future. How will each of you address the growing median age of our members and chairs?
Actively recruit younger voters and get them involved in the party. For example, I wish to build “Precinct Teams” (PTs). Each PT will be led by their respective Precinct Chair and Vice Chair. Team members will include block walkers, phone callers, social media reps, etc... Many of these tasks are better handled by younger volunteers. Engaging them and giving them a purpose will do more to give them a sense of belonging and accomplishment. I will also make every effort to speak where welcome to educate Ellis County residents about the structure and role of the local political party.
How do you feel about supporting all Republican candidates?
As the Chair of the party, my job will be to win in November. In some cases the winner of the primary may not be my choice, but I will not make that known to the public. I will focus on leading the local party in supporting all Republicans on the ballot in November. While Precinct Chairs, Vice Chairs and party officers have the right to endorse and assist any candidate they choose, the party will not give the impression that it prefers one candidate over the other in primary races. In primary season the job of the party is provide ample opportunities for voters to interact with and hear directly from candidates so they can make an informed decision not to imply the choice of one candidate over another in a primary.
